Managing Partner
Nathan serves as Managing Partner at Ash Bluff Capital Management and is the architect of the firm's quantitative strategies and technology infrastructure. As a quantitative developer and technologist, he bridges the gap between advanced software engineering and systematic investing. He is responsible for designing Ash Bluff's proprietary algorithmic execution frameworks, real-time risk monitoring platforms, and data-driven research pipelines. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he studied Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering.
Paul Matthews
Management Committee
Paul serves on the Management Committee of Ash Bluff Capital Management. With over 40 years of experience in capital markets, he previously served as Head of Global Arbitrage Trading at Salomon Brothers and was a Founding Partner of the quantitative hedge fund Endeavour Capital. At Ash Bluff, he acts in an advisory capacity, providing high-level mathematical and structural insights that inform the firm's quantitative research and risk management frameworks. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Dundee.
James Matthews
Managing Partner
James serves as Managing Partner at Ash Bluff Capital Management, where he oversees firm operations, project management, and investor relations. Prior to joining the firm, he ran his own asset management business, building a significant client portfolio and deploying capital into a range of asset classes. He brings strong organizational leadership to the firm's day-to-day functions, ensuring seamless execution across strategic initiatives and investments while leading client-facing communications. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University.

Emily serves on the Management Committee of Ash Bluff Capital Management, providing high-level strategic oversight. She is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of ALM First, where she has overseen the firm's growth to advise on over $70 billion in institutional assets. Her extensive background in institutional finance and asset liability management provides valuable macroeconomic perspective to Ash Bluff's leadership team. She holds an MBA and Master of Arts from Southern Methodist University.
